2016 Nebraska State Boys Basketball Championships

The Nebraska State Activities Association held the state boys basketball championships in Lincoln, Neb. Our publication The Grand Island Independent cover city and area teams that make the three-day tournament. The event can make for some early mornings and very late nights depending on timeframes within the bracket. It’s can be a lot of fun, but also very draining. However, I appreciate the opportunity to go as there are any number of newspapers in my past that don’t cover the finals or hire a freelancer. Arriving back home at 2 A.M. on my second wind I realize it’s all worth it. Here are some of my favorites:
